Where does the money go?
To ensure every dollar donated has the greatest impact, all our board and executive members support the foundation on a pro-Bono basis ensuring all proceeds go directly towards valuable tools, resources and programming in the community.
Can I donate money to a specific project, event, program or community?
The most efficient and effective way to make an impact is to make a general donation to the John Tavares Foundation. Your financial gift will be leveraged to create the most impact.
We are recognized by third party organizations for our financial effectiveness and believe in, and practice, transparency, ethical accounting, and donor stewardship. Further, there are administrative costs associated with directing your funds to a specific project or geography which can decrease the overall impact of your gift.
Do you provide tax receipts?
Yes. Individuals who give a donation over $20 will be issued a tax receipt.

Can I donate from an international address or with international currency?
We welcome donations from around the world. All donations are in CAD. If a donation is made from an international bank account, there may be additional fees incurred with that transaction.
